2014 Ford Transit Wagon ... The Ford Mini - Van Returns!

Announced today, Ford has decided to bring the Transit Connect van to the North American Market. This essentially fills the void in the lineup where the mini van would normally sit.

The car will have either a 2.5 Liter four cylinder engine or an EcoBoost 1.6 liter engine. Ford claims that the EcoBoost engine will be able to achieve MPG of 30mpg. Both engines feature a 6-speed automatic transmission.

What makes this entrant even more compelling, is the fact that there will be a standard and a long wheel base offered. The standard will have seating for 5 while the long wheel base will offer seating for up to seven.

The car has been designed around accessibility, with low lying floor for easy entry and exit, as well as unique folding sets for a truly custom storage capacity. Furthermore, the van has sliding rear seats for adjustable leg room, as well as available panoramic roof.

The car however is being officially labeled at the Transit Wagon. The reason behind this is because the wagon will be priced significantly lower than the offerings of Toyota, Honda and Chrysler. The reasoning is this wagon is focused on catering to the young families, who do not want to sacrifice style or space while staying within the budget.
